The Wood and Glass House
Designed by world-renowned architect Kengo Kuma, this New Canaan home demonstrates the best of transparent architecture. Kuma designed the home to embrace its natural setting. For example, the glass walls allow for total immersion in the woodlands surrounding the homes. In order to continue this motif of transparency, the designer opted for cable railing to enclose the wrap-around deck. Our Ithaca Style cable railing was chosen for its slim post design that preserves the view. Furthermore, the flat top rail and use of 1/8″ stainless steel cable infills provide stability for the rail without disrupting the scenery beyond.
Energy Efficient Prefab Home
This prefabricated home by evoDOMUS was designed with the environment in mind. A major component of energy-efficient architecture is optimizing natural lighting throughout the home. To do so, the designers incorporated floor-to-ceiling windows throughout the home. Furthermore, they chose our Ithaca Style cable railing for the surrounding decks and balconies. Because of its slender post design and cable infill, the railing system allows for light to flow through itself and into the home via the large windows.
Relaxing Summer Residence
This New Canaan cable railing summer home is the perfect place to unwind outdoors. The backyard features a pool, stadium seating, and a fire pit that overlooks the hillside. To optimize their outdoor living spaces, the homeowners opted for cable railing to enclose their two-tier deck, balcony, and exterior staircases. They chose our Ithaca Style railing design to keep their outdoor hangout wide open to the sunshine and summer breeze.
